How Can You Help

Dream Rider is a volunteer based non-profit organization that is dependent on support from individuals, businesses, our local community, and foundations. When you support Dream Rider, you are making a difference in the lives of challenged children, and women suffering from the effects of breast cancer. You are providing them the opportunity to experience the life-changing therapy that Dream Rider provides. There are many ways you can make a difference; whether it’s volunteering your time, making a financial contribution, an in-kind donation, sponsoring a horse, sponsoring a client's therapy sessions, or providing funds for maintenance of the  program's facilities. Your gift will go a long way.

Sponsor A Breast Cancer Client

Dream Rider, realizing the enormous cost of cancer treatment and subsequent loss of income due to prolonged impairment does not wish to sustain its program at the expense of breast cancer patients fighting for their lives. Because no woman who can benefit should be turned away due to a lack of ability to pay for her sessions, we invite donations to provide sponsorships to applicants with breast cancer. Our weekly session costs $60.00 per student. To see benefits, a client should attend at least six consecutive sessions.

  • I would like to provide sponsorship funding for one client for one 6 week session $360.00

Sponsor A Horse

Dream Rider would not exist without our specially trained horses. These amazing animals are our therapists. Most people are unaware of how difficult it can be to find the perfect therapeutic riding horse. They must be easy going, kind, friendly, and enjoy multiple people working with them at the same time. Our horses are the heart of this program and their health and well-being is paramount. Over the course of one year the cost of feed, bedding, shoes, veterinary care, and other expenses for one horse add up to $5,000.

  • Please accept my gift of $________________ to sponsor a therapy horse

Facilities Upgrade

People with impaired health receiving various forms of drug treatment are highly sensitive to direct sun. Although Dream Rider has a fine sand arena, a shaded area would be advantageous. A covered Gazebo where women can receive equine therapy in the shade of a covered area would be a great advantage.  Few facilities have the advantage of a covered arena. Such a shaded structure costs at least $5000.00. We welcome your contribution toward a fund to construct such a shaded cover for our clients.

Make a Financial Contribution

A financial contribution is an excellent way to show your support.. Your financial support allows us to “keep the doors open and the horses fed”. Your tax deductible donation provides for the purchase of special riding lesson equipment, horse care supplies, care and maintenance of the riding arena and grounds, office supplies, technology needs, and enables Dream Rider to continue to provide a safe, professional, and dynamic environment for our clients.

  • Make an annual gift.
You can send a check to Dream Rider Equestrian Therapy at 543 Anderson Road Alpine, CA 91901
  •
  • Make a bequest.

Corporate Matching. Many corporations will match an employee’s gift (including spouses) so be sure to check with your employer-you just might be able to double your donation!

In-Kind Donations

In-kind donations allow Dream Rider to provide better care for our horses and the people that depend on them. Donations of items that we would otherwise need to purchase make a significant difference in our program and allow us to keep doing what we do best…provide therapy on horseback!

We have immediate need for:

  • A one ton truck in good condition that has a current smog certificate
  • A horse trailer in good condition

We also have needs in many other areas and below is a list of the ways that you can help:

  • Equine Senior feed
  • Annual equine vaccinations
  • Dressage  letters
  • Covered arena
  • Covered round pen
  • Rubber stall mats
  • Office supplies
  • Metal portable mounting ramp
